3 key benefits

  • Saving time with the Honest hub

  • Stronger signal for employees across the UK

  • Fewer carbon emissions and less e-waste

With their contract with O2 ending, Stride Treglown was on the hunt for a mobile network that aligned with their values as a business.

“We wanted a network that actually cared about the same things that we care about,” says Steve Dolphin, Head of Business Change and IT. “Reliable signal, great customer service, a commitment to sustainability.”

After digging into signal mapping, testing SIMs across the UK, and confirming that 99.7% of employees had strong signal at home, the choice was clear.

Stride switched 200+ SIMs to Honest.

A smooth switchover

Switching over so many SIMs can come with the risk of downtime and disruption. To overcome this, Stride worked closely with Honest to plan a phased transition.

All employees received their SIMs before the three-phase transition began.

As well as ensuring a smooth switchover, this phased approach taught Stride “really helpful lessons along the way”, like waiting for the go-ahead before inserting SIMs.

It also meant Stride switched over quickly and easily, without needing much extra support.

“Having three distinct ports limited disruption and internal support calls” said Steve. “Instead, I could focus on overseeing business change.”

On the rare occasions Stride did need support, Honest responded directly to employees in seconds.

This offered a refreshing change for Steve, who previously acted as the “middleman”.

“Customer support with Honest is a huge step up to our previous big network provider,” says Steve.

It’s not just Steve who’s happy with the switch.

Pulse surveys sent to employees show a 20% higher score for signal coverage and connectivity, plus praise for the “very smooth” switchover process.

Saving time, money, and the planet

As the UK’s first B Corp mobile network, Honest’s focus on sustainability mirrors Stride’s.

This includes carbon-negative SIMs, which make Steve’s role as B Corp pillar lead much easier when it comes to clear emissions reporting for scopes 2 and 3.

“Before, our mobile network was too big for us to track impact properly. Now we have complete visibility,” says Steve.

There are also unexpected wins: less e-waste and saving on employee handsets.

Before switching to Honest, Stride employees could get a company phone or a small reimbursement for their own. With the first option no longer available, more employees use existing or refurbished handsets.

“We’re stopping e-waste before it happens,” says Steve. “That’s a huge plus as we build our sustainable supply chain methodology.”

Steven’s not the only person to think so. Feedback in the employee survey included: “It’s a great change as I don’t feel the need to upgrade to the flashiest phone. This is a lot less wasteful.”

As well as saving carbon, Stride are saving time with Honest.

Previously, SIMs and bills were on separate platforms, meaning Steve had to cross-reference to check info as simple as active SIMs.

“Now everything’s in the Honest hub, it’s quick and easy to manage business SIMs,” he says.
